    Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions.

    Drain and reserve a small amount of pasta cooking water.

    Blend basil, pine nuts (or walnuts), garlic, olive oil, parmesan, and salt to make pesto.

    Heat olive oil in a pan and lightly warm the cooked pasta.

    Add pesto sauce and a splash of pasta water to loosen the sauce.

    Toss well until the pasta is evenly coated.

    Top with sliced grilled chicken and sprinkle parmesan cheese before serving.
